We realize that as white men working with other white men around equity and inclusion, accountability is a foundation to our success and integrity.
OUR GUIDELINES
The impetus for this program stems from our understanding that none of us are free until we all are free. Our BIPOC friends and colleagues provide ongoing support and challenge to help shape this offering so that participants become more impactful and supportive partners in the multiracial movement for social justice.
We welcome the complexity of people’s intersecting identities, including but not limited to race, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, and religion.
We give 10% of our income to BIPOC-led racial justice organizations.
We are committed to ongoing learning and honor the teachers, mentors and colleagues who have shaped and guided us along the way. These include: Akaya Windwood, Paul Kivel, Reverend Angel Kyodo Williams, Chris Crass, Darlene Nipper, Helen Kim, Maria Ramos-Chertok, Martin Prechtel, Robert Gass, and Yeshi Neumann.
We understand that working, as white men, with other white men towards equity, includes both paradoxes and limitations, as well as opportunities and obligations. We will make mistakes, be human and keep going.
